Johannesburg – Thursday, 13 June 2024 – The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and The Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA) are pleased to once again work together in the facilitation of providing training to deserving learners in the ICT, media and broadcasting sphere.

For the 2024/25 financial year, 110 interns have been placed across various divisions within the organisation and in all nine regional SABC offices.

This partnership between the public broadcaster and the MICT SETA is anchored in ensuring that new talent receives training and mentorship, from skilled and experienced SABC personnel, whilst providing growth and sustainability for the industry from a human capital perspective.

Ms. Nomsa Chabeli, the SABC’s Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) says, “As an organisation, we warmly welcome the new intake of interns. We trust that this experience will be life changing, as they will get to see firsthand, the hard work that goes behind the SABC serving the public. We wish them all the best and we hope that they will give their all, as they begin to increase their skills, knowledge base and employability”.

Ms. Chabeli further commented, “The SABC would also like to thank MICT SETA for their support and partnership. This collaboration is crucial in making our internship programme impactful”.
